Abstract (at least 300 words to describe your proposal)

After a online ethnographic experience in fr.wikipedia and two years of offline Wikimedia experience, I would like to present a quick overview (less than 20 minutes) about different problems and contradictions contrasting between On-line ans Off-line Wikimedia activity. During this overview the key words will be environment culture, habit and democracy.

Equality of speech and edition. / Inequality of speech and edition.

Anarchic organisation. / Hierarchic organisation.

Native language or comfortable one mainly in use. / English mainly in use.

Collect of budget with unconditional donation. / Spend of budget with conditional restrictions.

From there, the audience can discuss about ethical guide lines that can make better the Wikimedia organisation. How to take care about paradoxical situation ? How to deal with intercommunication lack or missing ? How to organize better reparation and accessibility of donation ? How to make Wikimedia on line and off line more democratic ? etc.

In the end the meeting, the audience can decide to open an on line topic think tank, on MetaWiki for example, with the target to edit some recommendations for the communities and the foundation.
