Today, our volunteer Dinorah shares with us two of her favorite walking and biking spots in the city!
Parque México is one of the most emblematic places of Mexico city, located in the Hipodromo-Condesa neighborhood. It’s construction started in the mid 20’s. A center of reunion for families and friends and a perfect spot to go for a walk or enjoy the nature, fountains, and the recently restored duck pond. It also has an open air gym and a public library (perfect for hiding from the rain). Also you can visit the cafés or restaurants surrounding it for a relaxing evening, you can reach them by the Roma-Condesa route by tram.
Parque Españawas also built in the 20’s, also in Hipodromo - Condesa. It's great for having some ice cream at the local stores or at the cafés nearby. In this park there's a monument to Lazaro Cárdenas. Also as in Parque Mexico it counts with an open air gym, a fountain with a nice bridge and a public library. It’s the final stop in the Roma-Condesa route.
I personally recommend you to haver a diner at the “Ocho, café recreativo” in front of the park, the place is fantastic. The people in there are very nice.
